If you’re ready to change lives as a K-12 teacher, the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program is designed to prepare you—and your students—for success. USC Rossier’s rigorous program allows you to simultaneously finish your master’s degree and complete the requirements to be recommended for a preliminary teaching credential. Prepare for a California Preliminary Teaching Credential in Multiple Subjects (Elementary) or Single Subject (English, Math, Science, or Social Studies). With additional coursework, you can also pursue a Special Education Credential, Gifted Certificate, or Bilingual Authorization for Spanish Certificate.

Financial Aid & Scholarships
Scholarships ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 are awarded to exemplary candidates. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, demonstrated dedication to advancing educational equity, financial need and other distinguishing characteristics.
After you apply for financial aid at USC, the USC financial aid office will determine your financial need and process your financial aid summary document, which will consist mostly of federal loans. In addition, USC participates in a variety of private student loan programs.
