Lead high performing K-12 schools and districts in an administrative role

The Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership online (EDL online) is a three-year degree program that will prepare you to be an educational leader in K-12 settings. Designed to accommodate the schedule of working professionals, the program will train you to become a critically conscious leader with the skills to address inequities in education that affect learning opportunities and outcomes.

Candidates for this program must have a master’s degree, a minimum of three years of relevant full-time work experience and leadership experience. The EDL online program is only offered for the K-12 Leadership in Urban School Settings concentration. Additional concentrations are offered in our on-campus EDL program.

ONLINE LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Courses in the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership online (EDL online) program are conducted live in a real-time virtual classroom environment. The live sessions are facilitated by faculty and include highly interactive, engaging and collaborative discussions. Prior to attending live sessions, you will complete assignments submitted through the learning management system.

FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIPS

You will be automatically considered for limited USC Rossier scholarships averaging $10,000 that span the first two years of the program. There is no need to submit a separate application. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, demonstrated dedication to the USC Rossier mission and other distinguishing characteristics.

After you apply for financial aid at USC, the USC financial aid office will determine your financial need and process your financial aid summary document, which will consist mostly of federal loans. In addition, USC participates in a variety of private student loan programs.
